The Jim Guter Big Band is comprised of professional
musicians from the greater Chicagoland area. The band
performs a varitey of jazz, latin, and swing music in a big
band style.
The band was started in 2004 and has quickly become one
of Chicago's finest and most sought after bands. The band
has atotal of three CD's: Live at Hackney's, Downers
Grove Jazz Festival and Live from FitGerald's.

Recorded in 2004 and due it's popularity re-released in
2005! Both Sides of the Coin demonstrates Jim's
abilities as a conservatory trained musician in both:
Jazz or "Commerical" music and Classical or "Legit"
genres, as well as, his special studio mixes.
This CD was designed to be a demo to showcase the
concept of cross-over performance,which is the ability
to perform in both classical and jazz genres.
